# Payment to developers

Lemon.io handles all billing centrally. Developers are paid by Lemon.io directly — they never invoice the client, chase payments, or negotiate rates during a project.

* Payment methods — bank transfer, Payoneer, or Wise.
* Payment frequency — monthly.
* No platform fee.
* Rate setting — developer’s rate based on market conditions.

**Developers receive 100% of their agreed hourly rate**. There are no hidden fees, no bidding, and no rate negotiation after the engagement starts.

What Lemon.io does not cover: taxes, equipment, paid leave, or a retaining fee between projects. These should be factored into your hourly rate when you set it.

### **How does a developer set their hourly rate on Lemon.io?**

Developers propose their own rates during the vetting and onboarding process at Lemon.io. The platform does not cap or adjust these figures.

When determining a competitive rate, developers are encouraged to consider the following factors:

* Market alignment;
* Availability — full-time developers offering competitive rates generally receive offers more quickly than part-time developers with higher rate requirements;
* Comprehensive costs.
