# Developer onboarding

Once a developer passes all vetting stages, they are onboarded into the Lemon.io developer community and made available for project matching. Here is what that looks like in practice:

* **Profile is finalized**

The developer’s validated skills, experience, and tech stacks are organized and listed. Only the skills verified in the technical interview are visible to clients. If a client needs an untested skill, an additional per-project interview is arranged.

* **Personal Slack channel**

This is where the new project offers land. There is no job board to browse. Offers come directly to a developer, matched to your stack, rate, and availability.

* **Open project browsing**

A developer can browse open projects on the Lemon.io platform — but matching is the primary channel. There’s no need to write cover letters or bid on roles; a developer just notifies the matching team about projects they see as relevant.

* **First project**

A developer gets an offer within **\~13 days on average** — timing depends on demand for the stack, rates, and full-time vs. part-time availability. Full-time developers typically receive offers faster.

Once a developer passes vetting, they have permanent access to the project pool.

If an engineer completes a project and wants another, the matching team looks for their next placement.
